Update #4 of Moreno Focus City Project
Prev News 4 of 16 Next
Physical work of restoration of both streams banks has been done. These projects have received the assistance of a forestry expert from IMDEL (Institute for Local Development of Moreno) who gives advice on the planting of trees on either side of the gutter. Rules for the use of equipment and services in the cement aerobic path were set.  Coordinated by the neighbourhood association Eco-Raices – an NGO responsible for the Education Plan – and the primary school teachers, two sessions on basic limnological concepts and hydrological conservation to keep the bank clean will take place this month. Particular stress will be laid on the preparation of a management plan for the Arroyo los Perros, where the environmental liability of the hydrological system was restored with the support of the Municipality; and a set of participatory management indicators will be designed for its monitoring.  These various environmental activities will be guided by the environmental community promoters trained by the FC Educational program.
