Abstract
The pace of developing specialized human resources (e.g. scientists and engineers) in African research is very slow compared to other regions of the world. There is a difference between the demand for and supply of researchers, which has a negative effect on the economic and social development of the region. Consequently, it is necessary to create specific programs to train researchers. This project will help the University of Yaoundé provide 30 African specialists with the means to analyze the region's training and human resources development needs and to define a set of projects to satisfy these needs. The field of action chosen is research in development which should help the neediest to improve their living conditions. In the framework of this project, the University of Yaoundé will be able to test its capacities in human resources development, contributing to Cameroon's social and economic development.
