Abstract
IDRC's Regional Office for West and Central Africa (WARO) and Ecosystem Approaches to Human Health (Ecohealth) program initiative have retained the services of a consultant to assess whether a certain number of institutions in the region have the resources and capacity to undertake research using the Ecohealth approach. The work will take place in two phases. The consultant will review of the literature and make professional contacts while in Canada and, if these prove promising, conduct an on-site evaluation of the institutions identified. The product of these two phases will be a report detailing the strengths and weaknesses of the institutions identified, and a final report that will serve to guide the actions of the Ecohealth program initiative in West and Central Africa.
