Abstract
This project will continue support to a small grants program in educational research in Botswana, Lesotho, and Swaziland (BOLESWA). The educational research environments of these three countries have matured markedly in the period since the first grant was approved in 1983. Local educational research associations have been established in each country, supported as part of the Centre-funded Educational Research Network of Eastern and Southern Africa (ERNESA) and these associations are now organizing national, regional, and international research, seminars, and publications. This grant will provide funds for another cohort of young researchers and ensure that they benefit from professional training and supervision during their research. It will also permit continued publications of the BOLESWA Education Research Journal, the major instrument of research dissemination in the region.
