Bio Walter Ubal Giordano joined IDRC in 2002 as Executive Director to the Environmental Management Secretariat for Latin America and the Caribbean (EMS). Currently, he is Senior Program Specialist to the Urban Poverty and Environment Programme (UPE). He has been involved in environmental and natural resources international affairs since 1991, when he focused its interest on development cooperation. He has extensive fieldwork and policy level experience in scientific and technological issues in Central European countries working for UNDP, as well as considerable work on natural resources management in Mozambique, Angola and Republic of Guinea. He also collaborated with UNIFEM to build WINNER; an international Women Network for Development. He has a master’s degree in environmental economic from WYE College in London and postgraduate studies on Environmental Management Systems and statistics. Walter also worked as senior consultant for FAO and UNIDO in Africa, Latin America and Europe. Langues Besides Spanish - his mother tongue - he is fluent in Italian, French and English, and has a working knowledge of Portuguese and German. Mots-clés - géographie Latin America |
