Pan Asia Networking (PAN) supports research on how information and communication technologies (ICTs) can contribute to community development in Asia through local capacity building and knowledge sharing. In PAN's current programming cycle (2006-2011), the objectives are focused on researching the policies, technologies and effects of ICTs on different communities in Asia.

After initiating research to support early public sector Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in several lesser-developed countries (Bhutan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Mongolia and Vietnam) nearly a decade  ago, PAN has extended the range of research issues it funds to include access to ICT applications through research on rural access, distance education technologies, ehealth, equity in gender access to ICTs, local governance, intellectual property rights (IPR) and local language computing.

This web site allows the visitor to view PAN-supported projects by country and by theme. Each of these listings also include all of the appropriate PAN R&D Grants. Detailed information on how to apply for funding is also available here.
