Abstract
In its quest for self-reliance, agricultural resources development and production activities are given high priority in Burkina Faso. In response to the importance of assessing and disseminating information on the rural sector, phase I of this project created a documentation centre. This second phase will enable the Centre national de documentation agricole (CNDA) to consolidate its achievements by automating its bibliographic data processing and by reinforcing the national agricultural information network. Specific objectives are the creation of a bibliographic data base; the continuation of technical and material assistance to CNDA and the centralized documentation units; reinforcement of information dissemination activities; promotion of the national agricultural information system; and cooperation with other agricultural information systems.
