To celebrate its 15th anniversary, the West Africa Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU/UEMOA) Commission in collaboration with the International Development Research Center (IDRC) have organized a regional conference on the thematic of « Regional Integration and Poverty Reduction Strategies ». This conference was one occasion for West African researchers to present their works on this topic and to interact with various stakeholders from peers to national and regional political leaders, journalists and Civil society actors.

Held in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) on 8-10 December 2009, this conference brought together hundreds of participants from the 8 state members of UEMOA (Benin, Burkina, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Togo and Senegal).
