Professor M.S. Swaminathan is founder and chairman of the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF). Credited as the father of India’s “Green Revolution” that staved off famine in India 40 years ago, he is now calling for an “Evergreen Revolution” combining science, economics, and sociology to boost food production sustainably.  

Professor Swaminathan inaugurated the summer edition of the IDRC Speaker Series with a public lecture on July 13, 2007.

Acclaimed by Time magazine as one of the 20 most influential Asians of the 20th century, Prof. M.S. Swaminathan will be at Canada’s International Development Research Centre on Friday, July 13, 2007 as part of the IDRC Speaker Series.
