Right: Picture courtesy of TERI, IT's dept School children in Delhi, India will soon learn about the environment through an innovative web-based learning program, thanks to a winning project proposal submitted by the Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI), India to the Pan Asia R&D Grants Programme. TERI was one of five Asian organisations whose project proposals were approved for funding under the latest round of the competition. The most recent Pan Asia R&D Grants to be approved for funding include:
Project Title: Improving Access to Research Results Through the Development of a National Networked Digital Library of Research Reports, Theses, and Dissertations;
Project Title: Development of a Web-based Learning Resource on Environment for Schools in India;
Project Title: Assessment of Internet Technology for Integration into the Higher Education TeachersInstructional Support System in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam;
Project Title: Research to Develop Internet-based Tools for Automatic Translation and Management of ICSC and Vietnamese Chemical Information;
Project Title: E-Marketers: An Innovative Approach to E-commerce. The projects will commence once approval is given by the respective national authorities. Applications are now being received for the next round of the PanAsia R&D Grants competition, to be held in November, 2000.
