Books on Gender Studies on E-commerce Mall

Visitors to our Pan Asia site in search of gender-related information will be treated to some new resources. The Gender and Development Studies (GenDev) Unit of the Asian Institute of Technology has just "opened shop" on the Pan Asia E-Mall, and has placed 16 excellent publications there. The diverse content offered in these titles include women retail traders in Phnom Penh, women and land rights in Laos, and gender relations and housing design in Nepal, among many others. To view the titles offered by GenDev on the E-Mall, click here.

Dr Kyoko Kusakabe, coordinator of GenDev says: "GenDev is proud to join the Pan-Asia E-Mall and to enter the exciting world of e-commerce. We hope many more women around the world will enter this world and draw benefits from it. We will certainly do all we can to spread the word."

GenDev's staff set up their e-commerce shop on the E-Mall entirely through remote, online support and assistance from the Pan Asia team in Singapore.

Gender and Development Studies (GenDev) is an academic unit for graduate studies, research and outreach in the School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). GenDev emphasizes equitable and sustainable development through equal participation of women and men in all spheres of political, economic and social life. As a regional institute, GenDev has a strong focus in meeting the needs of the Asian region.

GenDev offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees and conducts teaching, research and outreach on socio-economic, cultural, technological and environmental aspects of gender, development and technology. Short courses and workshops on gender planning, gender analysis from the field to the policy level, as well as gender analysis of organizations and various sectors are conducted. GenDev faculty and staff have completed several research projects and are involved in on-going research in various areas. GenDev has published a number of monographs and occasional papers, and houses an international referred journal "Gender, Technology and Development" published by Sage Publications.
