| PAN - Website Development and Marketing |
The Pan Asia Networking (PAN) Program has been designed to provide the physical electronic infrastructure for general networking in the Asian region. The PAN Server is a necessary tool for coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and marketing the workplan and development of IDRC's PAN Program Initiative. There is potential for offering the PAN Website on the Internet as the one-stop place for the development research community on development issues pertaining to the Asian countries. This project will demonstrate and showcase the power of the Internet for networking individuals and institutions in Asia. A key objective is to identify R&D institutions and information sources of the region that are working toward sustainable and equitable development to enable their active contribution to PAN. These institutions will be assisted to publish electronically and to start an Internet presence on PAN. Concurrently, the capacity of the PAN Server to provide services and innovative technologies to these clients will be enhanced. The project will investigate different avenues of marketing PAN services and products including income- generating mechanisms.
