Establishing E-mail Connectivity, Web Presence and Internet Networking for the National Focal Points of the UN Special Unit for Technical Cooperation

The United Nations (UN) Special Unit for Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries (SU-TCDC) has asked IDRC's Pan Asia Networking (PAN) initiative to help their Asia national focal points install appropriate computer hardware and software, establish electronic mail and Internet connectivity, learn to use the World Wide Web to search for information, and create their own websites. Local PAN partners will support the focal points in this South-South collaborative activity. The project will enable the focal points to improve their networking with other development partners and bring 16 new contributors to the PAN website. It will also give PAN an opportunity to generate revenue from being a UN contractor.
