Abstract
The rural nonagricultural sector in Swaziland has developed with minimal government intervention and support. Its development is said to be linked to the activities in the agricultural sector. The nature of this link is, however, unknown. This project will identify and analyze the growth factors responsible for the development of micro-enterprises in Swaziland. The focus will be on those factors that propel these enterprises into medium enterprises. Activities to be covered include those in manufacturing, construction, mining, commerce, transportation, handicraft, and services. An attempt will be made to make a critical link between agriculture, nonagricultural activities, and the export sector.
