Abstract

This grant will enable researchers from the Université du Burundi and the Institut national pour l'environnement et la conservation de la nature in Burundi to begin preliminary work on the preservation and propagation of approximately fifteen threatened species of useful low- and high-altitude medicinal plants in this country. The funding will cover costs for tree nurseries and material, inputs for transplantation, labour, transportation, and phytomedicines.
