Abstract
This project will provide institutional support for the Centre d'études, de documentation, de recherches économique et sociale (CEDRES). CEDRES is a Burkina research institute, whose mandate is to improve national decision-making in the areas of politics and economic management. IDRC has supported CEDRES since 1981 using the research projects funding mechanism. Since the institute has attained a level of maturity and energy that sets a sound example in the region, the centre will move from this type of assistance to a new, more flexible form of assistance, which will represent a more effective use of external resources. The overall objective of this project is to increase the research productivity of CEDRES; to improve the dissemination of research results; and to make it possible to strengthen the institute's personnel.
