Abstract
The Interuniversity PhD Program in Economics (PTCI) was established in 1992 in Cotonou, Bénin during the Conférence des institutions d'enseignement et de recherche économique et de gestion (CIEREA), itself created in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The program, which boasts 18 sub-Saharan member countries including Madagascar, began its activities in 1994. Since then, 800 diplômes d'études approfondies (DEA - approximately equivalent to a master's degree) and 10 doctorates have been conferred. This project will present the results of the first 10 years of the program's operation.
