Ecopolis Workshop
Envisioning ECOPOLIS —
Innovations in solving urban environmental problems

In partnership with the Federation,  the International Development Research Centre
(IDRC) presents a day and a half of workshops featuring
the work of selected international graduate researchers who are winners of
the IDRC’s prestigious ECOPOLIS Awards. Highlighting a dynamic mix of
academic research as well as design projects in fields such as architecture,
environmental science, anthropology, urban planning and engineering,
these groundbreaking research projects emphasize the development of
relevant tools and methods on conducting participatory research in cities.
Research and design topics include: urban agriculture, water and
sanitation, solid waste management, vulnerability to natural disasters,
land tenure, housing, and gender as a crosscutting theme.
Furthermore, presentations will be simultaneously translated and recorded.
Following the conference, they will be available on this webpage.
