Announcing the winners of a competition in Latin America and the Caribbean region
Prev News 8 of 14 Next
On behalf of IDRCWHO-TDR and CIDA, it is our pleasure to announce the results of the call for proposals "Innovative Community-based Ecosystem Management Interventions for Improved Dengue and Chagas Disease Prevention in Latin America and the Caribbean."

This research initiative supports the nine projects listed below in their endeavour to better understand the multiple interacting factors that determine the rise and expansion of Chagas disease and dengue fever in Latin America and the Caribbean. The projects will develop and apply ecosystem-based, participatory interventions aimed at preventing the spread of these vector-borne diseases. The results will provide new strategic knowledge for national and regional dengue and Chagas control programmes; inform policy at national and regional levels; and lead to tangible improvements in affected communities. Innovative strategies will be explored to communicate the research work, its findings and public health implications.
