Conference Objectives & Anticipated Outcomes:

Major issues pertaining to desertification, water scarcity, food shortages and low productivity of Arab lands are affecting acutely the current agricultural and water research priorities and policies in the Arab world. This miniconference addresses some of these issues and discusses possible solutions for the challenges facing Arab world in these very important and vital sectors: Water and Agriculture. The expected outcomes of this miniconference include (1): A white paper on the most urgent issues that need to be addressed by all parties concerned to tackle the growing challenges in this area.; (2): Discussing the establishment of research networks and virtual centers of excellences in the Arab world and (3): Highlighting the most successful and promising research results for application and/or commercialization in the field of water and agriculture.
