For a Better WorldOrganized by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the 18th annual International Development Week (IDW) runs February 3–9, 2008. This year, IDW celebrates all aspects of international development and highlights the results achieved by Canada and Canadian organizations and individuals in many different fields. IDW is an opportunity for CIDA and its partners to share their challenges and successes in international development with Canadians. As part of its contribution to IDW, Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) will be delivering talks at universities across the country: - David O’Brien from IDRC’s new Research Chairs Initiative will take part in the Reshaping Research: New Directions for International Research for Development Speaker Panel at the University of Ottawa, February 4th. - IDRC Policy Analyst, Maggie Gorman, and Pan Asia Program Leader, Laurent Elder will be speaking at Queens University in Kingston.
- Eileen Alma of IDRC’s Peace, Conflict and Development program will make an address at Edmonton’s Grant MacEwan college.
- Hana Saab, a partner with the IDRC-supported Palestinian Adolescents Coping With Trauma project will be speaking at Queen's University.
