Special Examinations by the Office of the Auditor General

The Office of the Auditor General (OAG), which has always issued an unqualified positive opinion about the Centre’s financial statements, audits the Centre annually. The OAG also performs periodic special examinations of the Centre’s operations. In 2005, these examinations became a statutory requirement, but IDRC had volunteered for them regularly since 1982. The law requires that the next examination be completed by 2010, but IDRC has requested an audit to be concluded by March 2008 to maintain the five-year cycle already well established.
