| | Phone: | 2176 | | | | | Biography: | | Bruce Currie-Alder is a Senior Policy Analyst at Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
He works with the Policy and Planning Group to provide management and staff with an analysis of policies and trends that affect IDRC, both in Canada and internationally. This group is responsible for strategic planning and periodic studies aimed at institutional self-analysis. This work is critical as Canada’s relationship with developing countries is broadening beyond aid to include cooperation on issues such as health, environment, and science and technology. Bruce also provides support to IDRC programs on environment and natural resource management, and on innovation, policy and science. Trained as an environmental scientist, his career focuses on policies related to development research and environmental governance in developing countries. He holds a Master of Resource Management from Simon Fraser University and a B.Sc. (honours) from Trent University. His personal life bridges Canada and Mexico, as he is married to a Mexican citizen and has two children who are learning to navigate both cultures. He has published articles on scaling-up and participatory natural resource management in Latin America and maintains a research in these areas. |
